Haro
Strait and Juan de Fuca Strait are the two most popular whale watching
places in British Columbia. Both regions are close to BC's capital,
the City of Victoria,
on Vancouver Island, and the state of Washington. The orcas
are the main drawing card, but people can also expect to see gray
whales and humpbacks.
Other marine mammals that are often sighted in this area are; Dall's
porpoises, Pacific
white-side dolphins, California
sea lions, harbour porpoises, Steller's sea lions and harbour
seals. There are many guided whale watching charters based in Victoria
